Minister's Manual, a review by a young minister

I found this book extremely helpful. In it are found excellent special service outlines (weddings, funerals, baby dedications, etc.), along with helpful selections for the regular service helps, like calls to worship, benedictions, items of encouragement, etc. For the lay person it could seem a bit dull (no commentary is included with the service outlines), but for the ministerium it is a grand slam! It is divided into a helpful topical three volume set, hardbound, and quite attractive. One of the volumes for visitation includes excellent references, and scriptures for the encouragement of the sick. Another volume is all on weddings and funerals, quite helpful too I might add for those of us unacustomed to performing ceremonies. The other is devoted to helps for the sunday service, along with baby dedications, and communion services. You will find this book extremely helpful to ministry, if that is your field. If you are laity, you could find this an interesting look into the ceremonies that we, the ministerium perform.
