Mining legislation has been shaped in terms of accommodation in several countries of the world. Several times overhauled, its recodification has resulted in ordinances, currently in force. A project to reform the mining code in several countries is still underway, aimed in particular at bringing it in line with the Environment Charter. The Mining Code gives a company the opportunity to carry out exploration work, by obtaining an exclusive research permit, a prior exploration license (at sea) or an authorization for research of geothermal deposits. To operate a mine, by obtaining a concession, even without the permission of the landowner.
