Minimalist Poetry and Limericks: Encased in Dust Book Five

'Minimalist Poetry and Limericks'. When writing poetry I am often drawn to the surreal, to the undefined, to the curious. I like to experiment, I love to try different forms of poetry writing; minimalist poetry (in that sense) is just another experiment, just another form of expression without using too many words. I really like the discipline of either trying to keep a poem brief, (sometimes very brief) or to convey intricate meaning/interesting word pictures in the least possible combination of words. Language, and I have to say the English language especially, has a rich tapestry of words that once interwoven can form a multicoloured, multilayered 'patchwork quilt/blanket' of meaning and depth. Finally, I must say that I love to write the obscure, the obtuse, and the downright non-understandable just for the sheer fun of it As to Limericks, well I often get the impression that a 'Real Limerick', should be funny, quirky, surreal, with a touch of the bizarre and sometimes leaving the reader thinking or just saying "Eh ?" I may be wrong, but that is the way I see it. I find writing Limericks easy, probably because of the sense of the absurd, anything funny and leaving one thinking "Eh ?" I like. In a cleft in my mind minimalist poetry and Limericks somehow fall into the same category; this is the main reason I have included them within the piece of work. Enjoy.
