Chester County is the home of many famous and world-class mineral localities -- the Wheatley Mine, French Creek Mine, Brinton's Quarry, Poorhouse Quarry, Unionville corundum mines, Cornog Quarry, Beryl Hill, and the Parksburg rutile area -- to name just a few. The first printing of The Mines and Minerals of Chester County, produced by the traditional printing method, rapidly sold out. To make the book available again, a second printing was produced using "print on demand" technology. However, this technology could not mix gray-scale and color within the file-size limit; therefore, the color insert of mineral photographs included in the first printing was not part of the second printing. This full-color publication makes available those photographs, as well as many others. It features 287 full-color photographs of the beautiful minerals of Chester County.
