This e-book is a compilation of conversations I had with my son, Alexander, during the Covid-19 lockdown. Alexander has been playing chess since he was four years old and, at the age of 15, he has achieved the title of FIDE Master. The purpose of these conversations was to guide him towards the practice of introspection, aiming to improve his academic performance, chess skills, and relationships with others. Introspection refers to the mind's ability to understand itself. While chess teachings often focus on topics like openings, middle games, endgames, tactics, and strategy, there are no texts that explain the mind, body, and self (Ego), and how they relate to chess. During these conversations, I shared my personal experiences in various disciplines, including Buddhist psychology, ethics, hinduism, philosophy, epistemology, neuroscience, medicine, biology, yoga, meditation, mathematics, physics, chemistry, astronomy, and the human condition. Through introspection, I sought to discover connections between these disciplines, my own experiences, and how they can be related to chess. It's worth noting that supernatural powers, such as intuition, naturally emerge when not actively pursued. My hope is that my son comprehends, internalizes, and develops this knowledge, guiding him towards a state of equanimity in both his personal life and the realm of chess.
