a great start to The Hardcastle Progeny series... a thoroughly engrossing read

Courtesy of CK2S Kwips and Kritiques Dominic DiBari Hardcastle is a hardworking entrepreneur who's made a name for himself by providing gourmet foods to middle class budgets. His latest plans are shot down when he loses a business deal to billionaire Tarrant Hardcastle, who just happens to be Dominic's biological father. However, in the past Hardcastle swore in court that Dominic wasn't his son. Yet now here he is, wanting to accept Dominic and turn the Hardcastle empire over to him. Bella Andrews works in Hardcastle's state of the art research labs, working with nanotechnology to develop products to physically improve physical appearance. However, Bella has her own agenda. She is convinced Tarrant Hardcastle stole her father's lifetime of work in the field and she'll do anything to steal it back and give her dead father the recognition he deserves, and provide peace to her ailing mother. When a Hardcastle heir shows up in her lab, Bella will find out just how far she would go to save her father's reputation as a brilliant scientist. Dominic has his own agenda where Hardcastle business is concerned so when he discovers Bella has her secrets, he promises to keep them, at the cost of some very personal attention by the lovely Bella. Plans change however and soon the price of The Millionaire's Secret Seduction becomes too high when hearts get in the way. Bella and Dominic are two strong willed individuals willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. They take great satisfaction in their progress thus far and when they meet and plans collide, sparks start flying. Their attraction to one another is immediate and intense, causing both of them to make decisions they never anticipated. As they spend more time together, their feelings grow until there is no denying the love brewing between them all the while they worry their respective plans will force them apart. Dominic's attitude changes and he matures throughout the story in Millionaire's Secret Seduction. Also of note, is how much Tarrant Hardcastle has changed. This is best represented in their relationship to one another. Tarrant was ruthless in creating his empire, caring about nothing but building his fortune. When he becomes aware his health is failing and he only has months left, he does an about-face. Now he longs to make up for past mistakes and the first he hopes to rectify is his relationship to illegitimate son Dominic. While the two are uncomfortable initially, their relationship grows and changes until Dominic too becomes a new person, one who is able to share love with the one who has become most important to him - Bella. The Millionaire's Secret Seduction is a great start to The Hardcastle Progeny. Dominic Di Bari has a lifetime of resentment built up against his biological father. His father, Tarrant, has denied his parentage but with the knowledge of his impending death Tarrant needs a successor for his retail empire and he's decided that Dominic is perfect. Too bad Dominic has no intention of pandering to his father's sudden attack of conscious. In fact, Dominic has an agenda of his own and it has far more to do with his own business interests than his fathers. Bella Soros works for Hardcastle Enterprises as an Executive Vice President in the cosmetic division. However she's on her own personal mission which has nothing to do with creating quality makeup. She's searching for information about her father's research so that she can file a lawsuit against the company. It's the only way she believes she can save her mom from the downward spiral she's fallen into since her father passed away. Dominic and Bella don't exactly get off on the right foot. Before she learns that he's Tarrant's son she actually calls security on him to have him removed from her lab. Dominic has excellent instincts and he's pretty sure that Bella's hiding something especially since she seems unduly nervous. Dominic convinces her to give him a tour of Hardcastle Enterprises. Bella's desperation to get him out of her lab and away from her unofficial research before he discovers her true agenda so she quickly agrees to his request for a tour. Eventually they end up at the company's world class restaurant where a couple of Dominic's associates greet him with kisses which sets her on edge and makes her feel like the token ugly girl. What she doesn't realize is that Dominic is already captivated by her and willing to go the extra mile to seduce her. When he learns about her vendetta against his father's company he can't help but be shocked at her audacity and compare her stand with his own. He's not willing to see her lose everything over her misguided notions - especially once he discovers the true reasoning behind it. The sexual attraction between Dominic and Bella is undeniable but will it be enough to save her from `being squashed like a bug' once Tarrant learns of her intentions? Her saving grace may just be Dominic's refusal to bow and scrape to his father's wishes and Tarrant's desire to please his son. Jennifer Lewis's HARDCASTLE PROGENY series is off to a fantastic start with THE MILLIONAIRE'S SECRET SEDUCTION. Tarrant's sudden attack of conscience and decision to track down his illegitimate children after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis provides the perfect settings for tons of dramatic occurrences and exciting romances. I adored Dominic and Bella's steamy encounters and the emotional connection that seemed to develop effortlessly. While the primary focus of this story is Dominic and Bella's relationship and what incited them to their own personal vendettas against Tarrant and his company, I have to admit to a fascination with Tarrant
