Mike 84: Vietnam 1969-1970

Mike 84 was my call sign as an 0-1 Forward Air Controller in II Corps, Vietnam during 1969-1970. Green Berets and Montagnard tribesmen comprised a "mobile strike force", (Mike Force), that could deploy up to six light companies in the field by helicopter for up to three weeks at a time. We were heavily involved in breaking the mini-Tet siege of Dak Seang in April 1970. Defeating the 1970 NVA offensive led to Vietnamization and the eventual, total U. S. pullout. The book is the unfiltered version of what we really did and how things were during my tour. "Pilot stories are added because that's what pilots do."
