"Mighty Mini" says it all ...

"Mighty Mini" says it all--these puzzles are small but serve up a satisfying challenge. Six different types of puzzles fill the pages of this compact volume, with clues that cover a nice mix of gettable facts--they're not gimmes, but neither do they involve egghead-only arcana. "Missing Links" puzzles are curiously addictive, stimulating, and slightly tricky letter-placement exercises that should appeal to crossword fans and anyone who loves language. Nuts about anagrams? They're in there. In fact, of the six choices, word fans are sure to find something they like. I like 'em all.

Count me as a big fan of Gary Disch puzzles, which I enjoyed first when I was the editor of Games magazine years ago, and more recently as the crossword editor of The New York Times. Gary's puzzles are imaginative, playful, and expertly crafted--a great pleasure to solve.
