Like many books written on Soviet military aircraft before this era of openess, Mr Gunston's book has an element of mystery though most facts have been proved correct. The photos are often not very clear as it is often the case in books written on Soviet aircraft during the Cold War. This book is now a little dated but is still of interest. I found particularly interesting its coverage of an incident where the Indian Air Force displayed a MiG-23 BN calling it a MiG-27. This caused some confusion in the West as to what the MiG-27 really looked like. A works written by Aviation's most prolific writer.
