Midwest Sunset

By Michael Andrew Lambert

Book Overview

He had already written the ending.

After Colorado Sunrise told the story of unexpectedly falling in love and Just in Case became a goodbye to the woman he believed he would never see again, 3ichael 7ambert thought the story was finished.

Then she came back.

Midwest Sunset is the unexpected final chapter of an unconventional love story spanning thousands of miles, second chances, impossible drives, quiet nights, laughter, jealousy, dreams, and heartbreak.

A work trip to Detroit becomes repeated drives to Columbus. An ordinary night in her apartment becomes more intimate than any carefully planned adventure. A forgotten stuffed wolf travels across the country carrying a confession: I fell in love with you.

Then comes seven hours of highway for one more night together-music, walking her dog, exploring her city, sitting beside the water at Goodale Park, and a goodbye neither of them knew would be their last.

But the story continues through messages, plans, and promises. Words like girlfriend, boyfriend, serious, and permanentappear. There are dreams of New York, Miami, shows, travel, and a future that always seems just close enough to touch.

Until it isn't.

Raw, romantic, funny, and deeply personal, Midwest Sunset explores what happens when love, friendship, distance, generosity, jealousy, mistakes, and hope become nearly impossible to separate.

Colorado Sunrise was about finding her.

Just in Case was about losing her.

Midwest Sunset asks one final question:

What happens when the person you wrote goodbye to comes back?
