When the Cold War ends and the arms race between the Superpowers stops, Ralph Dempsey, a nuclear weapons expert, finds himself a casualty of peace. Out of a job, he struggles unsuccessfully to survive in the new world order. There is, however, a market for his talents. Ralph is approached by an international arms dealer, who wants him to help with the recovery of bomb-grade nuclear material he plans to sell to the highest bidder. When Ralph refuses to help, one of his sons is kidnapped and threatened with execution, unless Ralph does as he's told. In a race against time, Ralph Dempsey battles terrorists, the bomb, and the forces of nature, to save his family and the world from a nuclear nightmare.
