5 Stars is Not Enough!!

It is the first book of Hatcher's I read but I immediately, like within two days, read two more-lol! (After reading THIS one in one sitting!) I absolutely loved Leona. While I am too young to have watched the Zorro and Robin Hood shows she speaks of in her note to the reader, the stories have always spoken to me as well. She uses both to perfection - and in a female character! Being a modern day woman, I appreciate it when strong female characters are written, not the always-fainting-in-need-of-a-rescuer so many other stories are based on. I love though, that she did not just make her a ball-buster as many do when they go to the other extreme. She made Leona real with more than just one facet. The story was wonderful and I loved Diego. I would love to see a sequel! They could have so many adventures together! I loved that she didn't just stick within the romance genre, either. So many times romance novels are just about "romance" - really just sex - and melodrama. Sometimes I like melodrama but not if it is overdone. This was not like that at all. The romance was believable and wonder of wonders, they waited until marriage! Oh, and her brothers!! I laughed out loud so many times at their antics and other parts of your story. I was actually starting to worry I would bother my neighbor (apartment walls are thin and we can hear everything that goes on, lol) because I was laughing so much and it was a rather late hour. As I said I read it in one sitting - I couldn't go to bed until I finished! Thank you, Robin, for writing such characters and sharing them with readers such as me!

A book with everything.

Well written romance set in spanish american california with wonderful characters, suspense, bad guys, humor and history. Very enjoyable. Wish there was a Riccardo sequel....Robin Hatcher never disappoints you. Her civil war era books are incredible.

Wonderfull

It was a wonderful story with lots of suprises. Leone was the kinda woman that we all need to be and Diego is the man meant for her. Its a must read!
