Midnight Metropolis: King Cobra Motel

Bys: Drake, Lucas and Farson, Guy

The King Cobra Motel is the kind of place travelers choose because it's cheap, convenient, and easy to forget. Set against the humid darkness of the Philippines, it offers worn concrete rooms, unreliable plumbing, a narrow strip of beach, and the comforting appearance of a place that has already seen every kind of guest and survived them all.

That appearance does not last...

A furious woman in Room Three becomes convinced that something is crawling beneath her skin, even though no one else can find a single insect. Two travelers follow the sound of a crying baby beyond the marked trail and discover that distance, direction, and time no longer behave as they should. A renovation crew learns why one awkward patch of ground has been left untouched for decades, while a honeymoon begins to fracture when a black dog appears first beside the motel and then on the roof outside the couple's room. Farther into the hills, two curiosity seekers follow old roads, drifting cigar smoke, and rumors of buried treasure toward a place that may have been trying to warn them away from the beginning.

Across five interconnected stories, the King Cobra becomes more than a backdrop. Its rooms, service roads, drainage channels, rooftops, trails, and surrounding jungle all become part of the danger, while recurring characters and accumulating consequences give the motel the uneasy sense of a place that remembers what happens there.

MIDNIGHT METROPOLIS: KING COBRA MOTEL, from Guy Farson and Lucas Drake, blends contemporary horror with Philippine folklore, damaged relationships, bad decisions, and the creeping realization that ordinary places often have rules no one bothers to explain until someone breaks them.

The King Cobra still has vacancies.

The question is whether you should take one.
