A cheap knockoff of a standard plot.

People are being robbed on the Midnight Limited. So, in one of the robberies, Joan Marshall (Marjorie Reynolds, 1917-1997) teams up with the top railroad detective, Val Lennon (John 'Dusty' King), to track down the culprit. Val decides to use himself as bait, disguised as a wealthy Canadian, as if anyone would want him, rich or not. They may get more than they ask for; it may be murder. The wording is very stilted and sophomoric. What is with the cheap singing? There are too many real clues and not enough red herrings. However, there may be one long red herring. The plot, what there is of it, is ridiculous. The advantage of the dumb plot is that you get to say, “That is a dumb plot.”
