Microtexture and Mineral Chemistry of Manganese Ore

The mineralized area is a part of ancient failed rift including a basaltic belt extended across Central Sudan passing through Thetis, Atlantis-II, and Valdivia deeps of the Red Sea, and on to the Jeddah and El-Riyadh cities in Saudi-Arabia. A scanning electron microscope with an X-ray microprobe attachment was used for detailed analysis of coexisting mineral chemistry. Micro textural analysis for thermal features indicated crystallization from boiling solution (hyaloclastic and colloform microtextured); simple cooling (diablastic); replacement (pseudomorphs) and alteration and fissure filling (Nematobiastic).
