This book is very helpful.

I am a novice with Word X. About a year ago, I purchased the Word X "visual Quickstart Guide" book by Maria Langer and found it to be a very good book. A couple of weeks ago, I wanted to do something very simple.... I wanted to type a long list of books, and DVD's I own.... and then have Word X organize them in Alphabetical order. (I didn't care if they were in a table or not). Perhaps I am stupid, but I spent hours reading every chapter on Tables, Lists, Rows, and Ascending.... but I coun't find a simple explanation on how to alphabetize a list. I searched Word X's "help" and found nothing about alphabetizing. (What I did find was lots of information that was as clear as mud.) This was beyond irritating!!!! I spent another hour screwing around with every tool until I figured it out on my own. But, I was angry that something so simple to do.... was not "simply" explained in the Quick Start book or in Word X "help". The next day, I ordered a "Visually" and "Simplified" (Word X) books. When the books arrived, I couldn't belive the "Visually" Word X- book did not have the word "sort" or "alphabetize" in their index! The "Simplified" word X book had the word "sort" in the index, but it was about sorting "Tables" and and "Row".... not Alphabetizing the words inside the tables and rows. Today ,while in a bookstore, by chance I found this Microsoft Office Word 2003 book. And just out of curiosity, I looked in the index. And there it was. "Sort List" On page E-9 .... This book had the simple instructions on how to sort a list in ALPHABETICAL sequence! Thank you Jennifer Duffy! I just wish I knew about your book a few weeks ago.
