This is an excellent book for young readers around ages 7 - 10. It tells the story of Michelle Kwan's life up until the end of the 1997 season. The book includes an easy to understand glossary of skating terms. There are lots of quotes from Kwan and pictures tracing her growth from tiny tot to World Champion. The book stresses Kwan's work ethic and her devotion to her family which makes her one of the best role models for children. Though easy to read the book does offer a few vocabulary challenges for the young reader that would help them to expand their reading skills. The book is good for young fans of Kwan, and may make them more interested in reading.
