Le camp des éléphants [French]

Micah, age twelve, lives in Bordeaux with his father, brother and sister. He was adopted as a baby in Thailand but today has no interest whatsoever in his native country. When he inherits a piece of land in the Thai jungle, he couldn't care less and grudgingly accompanies his family on a trip to inspect his inheritance. Upon their arrival, they are delighted to discover that Micah's land is home to an old elephant training camp. With much enthusiasm they make plans to set up home there and build a vacation resort. Micah however remains on the sidelines, preferring to spend his days in the company of an old elephant trainer who patiently teaches him how to listen to the jungle and communicate with its inhabitants. When construction of the hotel is well underway, strange events begin to happen in the forest. Why do the elephant trainers refuse to go near a certain cabin near the river? Has an infamous assassin who escaped capture managed to survive and find refuge on Micah's land?
