Excellent,sometimes witty account of a marriage gone awry

This book is beautifully written. As a fluent but non-native Spanish speaker, I had to consult the dictionary a few times as Rigalt's writing is fairly sophisticated.Her slow but steady portrayal of a 40ish woman coming to terms with a disintegrating marriage is perceptive, witty and quite poignant. Through the protagonist, one can understand how the best marriage can transition from newly-wed pleasantries to daily abhorrence. While this might sound depressing, it actually isn't. In fact, this book is quite a page turner while still provoking thoughtfulness!
