I wrote this story to pay tribute to the young girls who lost their childhood due to circumstances beyond their control. In this story, the fictional character Angelita is thrown into a situation of abandonment. Her parents separated and her mom left her in charge of her younger siblings at a very young age. Her grandparents became her primary caretakers, but because of their age, watching after four little children was too much for them. The grandmother lovingly taught her how she could contribute to the families welfare, and she acted very responsively in that role. Meanwhile the grandfather greedily would spend all her mother's money that was coming in from America.Despite all her hardships Angelita endured and raised her siblings pretty much on her own . She was finally at the stage in her life where she could free herself of her responsibilities and head to America and finally reunite with her mother.
