Did you know that the average domestic cat spends over 10,000 hours purring in its lifetime? Did you know that in Italy, a sneezing cat is a good omen for everyone who hears it? And did you know that a group of kittens is called a kindle while a group of grown cats is called a clowder? In this unique book, author and photographer Fiona Green shares her large portfolio of beautiful cat portraits and her years of cat observations. Anyone with a fascination of the complex and curious cat will be inspired by this book, and gain a better understanding of cat behavior and an appreciation of all things feline.
If you know a cat lover (or are one yourself, like me) then this unique book is just what you've been looking for. The photographs are just stunning. I don't know what this author does to get the photographs she does, but the pictures are just gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. I can never get my cat to look at the camera like this! The patience it must take to get really wonderful pictures is very apparent in this book and you'd be hard-pressed to pick just one favorite photo. Beyond the photos, though, the writing really sets this book apart from any other cat book I've found. Usually you have one or the other: incredible photos or observations on cat behavior and fun facts. This is a beautiful combination of both that is very entertaining. There are so many interesting things that I never knew about kitties before reading this book. I definitely know the gift the cat lovers in my life are getting this Christmas!
