Methods of sociological study of adolescents

The book deals with methods and techniques of sociological research for the study of adolescents. It describes the peculiarities of using qualitative and quantitative methods of studying adolescents, the possibilities of mutual complementation of "hard" and "soft" methods. The main problems of studying adolescents in the sociological perspective are specified. On the example of the author's empirical research experience the ways of solving these problems are revealed. The details of conducting interviews and questionnaires with adolescents are shown: the time of working with them, the peculiarities of formulations and the structure of tools. Non-standard methods for studying adolescents are proposed: projective and drawing techniques, the method of collisions. Further prospects of studying the group under study using slang and so-called "memes" in the toolkit are described.
