Blackberry Mint Lemonade. A simple fast food treat, or the catalyst for societal collapse? Scottie Brentson doesn't know. Yet that doesn't stop him from trying the latest beverage craze El Rancho Burgers has to offer.

It isn't long before he regrets his choice. First assuming he suffers from an allergic reaction to the refreshment, he quickly discovers himself mutating into a pyrokinetic being. He isn't alone. Other people develop super-strength, ice, parasitic telepathy, and magic, among other abilities. Not all these powers will benefit mankind.
