Over the past decade a set of quantitative methods known as meta-analysis has been developed to help synthesize evidence to estimate the outcomes of different actions. This method contains techniques for interpreting individual experiments, adjusting the experiments for factors that affect their comparability or applicability to specific questions, and combining evidence from multiple sources. It provides solutions for proceeding in the face of imperfect and incomplete evidence.
