Tuft, a lion cub, notices he's not growing up. He seeks his friends Freckles, a young hyena, and Tree, a baby hippo, and they're both having the same problem. They go on a search for some humans - Captain Messi, First Mate Lazee, and Icarus (Icky to his friends). These humans deny having done anything, but later they are told that Icky's father, Master Daedalus, cast the spell of The Book of the Living. The three animals and the four humans all have eternal life, and in their current conditions. They will never die or get any older (although never is a strong word for immortals). If you learn you will live forever, what do you do? They all make their choices. However, those who live long enough will encounter disaster. Master Daedalus discovers the Ragnarok - the war to end nearly all life everywhere - is coming. He recruits the others to help him stop it, and they agree, especially as they're worried what the Ragnarok will do to them. They journey north, to the realms of the Norse gods and the giants, to do take steps to prevent the Ragnarok, even though they are told, again and again: "No one can stop the Ragnarok." Messing with the Myths: Ragnarok & Roll is the third in a series of stories having fun with different mythologies, this time with Norse mythology. The first is Messing with the Myths: The Maxotaur (Greek mythology) and the second is Messing with the Myths: The Book of the Living (Egyptian mythology).
