Many thanks, Mr Morris, for this remarkable book. I consider it to be in the spirit of "Dead poet society", as far as teacher/students relationships are concerned. But it goes infinitely deeper as far as the teaching is concerned. It helps readers reconsider their thinking, their beliefs, their values. It helps them come out of the social "Matrix". French philosopher Pascal said : "Misfortune to the man who, at least once in his life, did not question everything." Mr Morris helps his students and readers to start this kind of questioning.
Great book about "waking up"

A great introduction to Sufism, and the concepts that Gurdjieff and Ouspenksy (not sure of my spelling there) explored. I really enjoyed all the stories and concepts of waking up, or the exoteric versus the esoteric. The book really helped me "wake up" a little more. And, the fact that is has a storyline, and is filled with small stories, makes it easy to stay with. Highly recommended.
Stirring and amusing. A one sit read

Your book reads so well, it's so stirring and so amusing that I had to make an effort not to read it at one sitting...You cut, however, through so many layers of conventionality, that I ask myself: Are they going to make him drink the hemlock?

The path taken by Mr. Taylor's students is one shared by all the readers. We are all his students. Mr. Taylor gentleness, honesty and embracing wholeness are why his book is taken to heart by sparrows like me. Mr. Taylor is a Teacher for his "lessons" are for us to rediscover what is in each one of us. Thank you! and Thank you again to give me this place to tell you my deep appreciation and love to Mr. Taylor, someone I never met yet someone who is now my friend.
Totally Engaging

I feel like a student in Morris' class. Following the student's increasing awareness, from totally unaware middle class high school graduate to seeing the world in a different way, not through instant enlightenment, but through fits and starts, as it really happens. This book is a welcome addition to the many books of the genre. It does not pontificate as many do (which is a welcome change), but allows us to experience the author's ideas as his class experiences them.
