Mersuka Dopazo studied law, but her natural aptitude for drawing and paiinting led her to leave the courtroom behind and enter the world of art.
These works clearly show the influence of the artist's years of experimentation, ranging from Cezanne's post-impressionism to the techniques of pure abstractionism with a preference for larger formats and use of a wide assortment of materials. The artist works with natural materials like leaves, sand, burlap or paper.
All of her works characteristically show great originality and lyricism. Her creations also include a series of figurative works, like seascapes or portraits, where she displays a harmonious combination of sinuous brushstroke.
Dopazo's works have been exhibited extensively in the USA, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong and Europe.
