Merry Christmas Ragtime: 12 Ragtime Piano Solos

By: Joseph Shiery

Merry Christmas Ragtime is my first published book. After countless hours, I am thrilled to share it with you all. In this book, I arranged twelve Christmas carols with a unique and familiar style, Ragtime. Ragtime is such a joy to perform. My high school piano teacher first introduced me to the musical style. The syncopated rhythms, bouncing bass lines, and foot-tapping melodies are unforgettable and so nostalgic. Most of this book was inspired by the Ragtime great, Scott Joplin. My goal was to capture the essence of his style, and I wanted the melody of each Christmas carol to stand out to the listener. I had a wonderful time working on this project, and I look forward to creating more in the future! Difficulty: Intermediate Note: If you can play Scott Joplin, you may be able to play these pieces as well. Merry Christmas Ragtime includes the following arrangements: 1) Joy to the World 2) Go Tell It on the Mountain 3) How Great Our Joy 4) Silent Night 5) The First Noel 6) Away in a Manger 7) Angels We Have Heard on High 8) O Come, All Ye Faithful 9) Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming 10) O Little Town of Bethlehem 11) What Child Is This 12) Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
