In this collection of poems, there is exploration of key themes that are speaking to my own lived experience as a middle aged woman, a woman who has had life-changing circumstances put in front of her to deal with. What is acknowledged is that there is pain in confronting the truth that sometimes, dealing with things hasn't always been done with grace, but compassion enough that they have been handled with love. Some poems speak directly to childhood trauma and are troubling to read, and were equally difficult, but necessary to write. And then, some lighter ones just because there is also a necessity for joy, love and witnessing of life's beauty and mystery.
