Long life is a sign of good health; and aging is a natural process that influences the individual, family and society in different ways. Ageing is not disease but the final stage of normal life. The ageing of theworld's population in developing and developed countries is an indicator improving global health. Since the beginning of century, the number of people over 65 years of age has increased worldwide. The age composition of the population of India has been undergoing change; there has been a progressive increase in both the number of persons aged by 60 years or over was 12 million of this 5.5 million were male & 6.6 million were female.(Saran S.2008)
