I walked into a Buffalo book store last week and I met the author of "Mental Cruelty" as he was doing book signings. I decided to be nice and buy the book. Little did I know, that this was a book that you want to keep reading and reading until you are done; and then when you finish it, it's sad because you want to read more! This is a heart-felt story which brought about a lot of emotions. It made me laugh, feel sad, feel angry, and I found myself cheering Lenny Spencer on. I could easily relate to his sadness, confusion, loneliness, and happiness. Many of the events were crazy and unbelievable and quite entertaining to read. I think any one who is in an unhappy marriage or divorced would love this novel. I learned about the unfairness of the legal system with divorce, I learned about God and having faith, and I learned that I can be happy even when life is difficult. You will love this book if you like stories about real life and relationships.

I thought this book was funny, sad and romantic. It is Fiction meaning not true and I can't believe anyone being in a marriage like this one. I know for a fact that Lee is very much a family man and adores his children.
