This very concise and impactful book of Catherine Cardinal is a "must read" for any girl or woman of any age who is either contemplating or already in a relationship. It classifies men into different types and explains the key characteristics associated with each in an objective fashion. It spells out both the pros and the cons of each type so that you can understand how it will mesh with your own personality. It is not so much about right or wrong, but about what will make a good match for you. While the book navigates you to a better understanding of men, it in fact, helps you analyze and understand you own self so that you can make better decisions. Why didn't I have this book years ago?!?!?!

Catherine Cardinal is every woman's new best friend. Her funny, insightful, and painfully true descriptions of the not-so-nice-guys (most of whom I've dated) in the dating pool is a guide every woman should be given when they turn 18. With lots of humor and great compassion, Catherine spells out the behavior of each type of guy to run from and explains in a very grounded and easy to digest way WHY they are so toxic for our lives. Some of the types are obvious to run from i.e. "The Bully" (don't get hit!) but most types fall into a grey area which she artfully navigates, listing both their cons and pros, and gives helpful tips on how to make the relationship work if you decide to stay. That's the best thing about Catherine, she ultimately empowers the woman reading the book to decide what is the right choice for her and through this book provides all the love and support any girl needs. READ THIS BOOK!!!

Catherine Cardinal's witty, perceptive new book rings totally true: from beginning to end, I found myself recognizing the full spectrum of male types that have, at one point or another, made me run screaming! (and several who did not, but should have). The gem here, though, is not just the true-isms that Cardinal articulates about men, but her extremely grounded, trustworthy call to women to take a stand for themselves. Through humor and compassion, she guides her reader, offering them tips and "things to do" in order to ultimately make better choices about who to partner with. I honestly wish I had had this book in my early 20's... though reading it now in my 30's I feel luckier than ever.

First thing I want to say to all women, read this book even if you have found the man of your dreams. Catherine Cardinal has found a way to describe male "personality types" in a clear laser like manner. You know these guys, whether you dated them, they are your husband, brothers, sons, or your co- workers or bosses. She is able to bring to light those characteristics that as women we sometimes just dont understand and will certainly behoove us to understand. If you are having a less than satisfying love relationship Catherine Cardinal will give you tools to define why by providing insight into your mans motivatations, and how to work best within them to improve your dynamics and satisfy your needs. Unfortunatley if the relationship is doomed, because of her fair, compassionate and clear insight she will also show you that fact. The book supports you either way that you decide to go. The humor found in illustrations and dialog and the connection you feel to her as a woman are worth the buy! Learn more about all the men around you and affirm you feminine energy. Pesonally I loved it!!
