Leaving nothing behind but bodies and the dust of four fast moving horses, the outlaws rode out of Los Cruces and out of sight of the men who dare not follow. With smoking guns and saddle bags full of loot the four outlaws rode away leaving two dead. As they moved across the New Mexico territory the body count rose including one sheriff and his deputy. North bound they rode from ranch to ranch stealing fresh horses and killing whoever got in their way. As the body count rose so rose the reward on the outlaws heads. Five-hundred miles away Jake and Pat got the word of the big numbers and decided to go for it. They both had plans of expanding their ranches and they needed this reward to do it. They knew a bounty of this size would draw every bounty hunter, gun slinger and back shooter in three states. They also knew these men would present a problem that could only be settled with a gun. Pat dropped his badge in the bottom of his saddle bags then loaded their horses on the train: destination Raton. In every town they passed through they picked up a little more information on the men they hunted. Before they climbed into the saddle they knew they would not bring these men back alive.
