It's funny 'cuz it's true!

I first picked this little gem up off a table at Barnes & Noble because of the cute cover, but was laughing out loud when I started reading--the info the book offers is so spot on, and really helpful! My ex is a corporate lawyer, and everything she says about him never having free time, always being at the beckon call of the partners at his firm was so true and literally the reason we broke up. My current BF is a musician, who bought new strings for my guitar after our third date and is teaching me how to play again--I never thought about it until I read this book, but that means so much more to me than fancy dinners and designer bags my ex used to buy me to make up for never being around. A fun read, and she's right--what he does says a ton about who he is!

Just Take It for What it is

This book isn't necessarily a means to finding and understanding your one true love but more encouraging you to have fun along the way. Every category is well thought out and has great tips (especially if you live in NYC, you know the ones about the Wall Street guys are true)and if the person you are dating/annalyzing doesn't fall directly into one category, you can still find similarities strong enough to connect them to a type in the book. My friends and I have a great time using the book's comments and applying them to people we meet and I highly suggest purchasing it not only for insight, but as a light-hearted way to look at men.

Saving time looking for Mr. Right

Before reading Men at Work I didn't realize what a dating funk I was in. Same types of guys over and over with the same perks but also the same problems. This book helped me to see that if I wanted different results I needed to date different types of guys and it's true what you do often defines what type of person you are. So now I feel like I'm prepared to try a new type of man without going in blind. The charts at the beginning of each section are really cool when you need to know a guys MO fast.

No Techies?

Where are the computer techs? "Geek Squad"ers? Companies these days cannot get along without them. No girl can afford to pass them up. Ms. Straker works for a newspaper but it doesn't seem as though she's spent much time in the pressroom . Not only electricians which do rate a section, although more as outside contractors or freelancers than company workers, but machinists and pressmen need their own going over. However, I do give it 4 stars since with the professions(everyone from lawyers to auto mechanics) she covers she does get to the heart of the matter.
