Men Against Granite, an excellent book of granite industry of the past in Vermont!

Mari Tomasi, a descendent of legal Italian immigrants, wrote this book with another young author, at the time of WWII. It takes place in the granite quarries and "stone sheds" of the Barre, Vermont area. Is a wonderful read presenting the ups and downs of a lucrative industry and it's dependency on the hard work and labor of the people that lived in that era of not very safe working conditions and habits! I loved it!
