Mem's Memoirs

At the age of 65, Beatrice Surprenant began writing her memoirs. She jotted down memories from her childhood and young adulthood as she recalled them - and she recalled them in exquisite detail. After narrowly escaping death as an infant (more than once) and being raised (and legally adopted) by her grandparents (with her parents playing an integral role in her life), she recounts her life growing up on a small New England farm. As a token of her affection, she left behind these detailed memoirs to her grandchildren. This book reflects Beatrice memoirs as they were written in her own hand. It also includes original photographs and newspaper clippings that were collected by Beatrice over the years.
