Memories: Stories of a Country Childhood shares stories of a happy life that today seems unique and somewhat quaint: stories of growing up during the 1940s and 1950s on a small farm in northeast Texas. These years gave the author an interesting take on life, as he experienced at least a glimpse of a world very different from life today. He looks back on those years as "the good old days," not because they were better or even as good as we experience today, but because they were different, and he mostly remembers the good--which he shares with the reader.
