Sarah has been spending the weekend with her grandma. As grandma folds laundry, Sarah sits at a card table, painting pictures and occasionally helping with the task at hand. Collecting treasures, like the items left in Grandpa's pockets and a dryer sheet that smells like Grandma, also preoccupies Sarah's mind. This soon leads to Grandma sharing stories about her past, specifically about the years during World War II, and the things that they did to support and remember those loved ones who served and sometimes made the ultimate sacrifice. Sarah's mother Jackie arrives, in a bit of a hurry, to collect Sarah, pick up the family dog at the kennel and return home. Sarah is less than cooperative, resulting in some tension between all three. Ultimately, Jackie acquiesces and allows Sarah to stay and share a bit more time with Grandma, to remember and honor those who have served and currently serve our nation.
