Melinda is awesome!

After listening to this entertaining audiobook of the wild west type gunslingers fighting off monsters that come from a mysterious edge and a journey to save the soul of a man Melinda and her partner/husband Lance consider a father figure which really ranges off into the weird and awesome, I just had to get the print version as well (and the sequel too!). This was a well done story with lots of heart, action, creepy monsters (soul sucking spiders!), allies, enemies, and towns that veer to the very odd due to the monsters. Melinda is a great character, tough, an expert marksman, tall, and just the perfect person that I would want on a trek to find and destroy the many monsters that seem to be everywhere, plus that creepy man/demon who wants souls for a nefarious purpose. This was a great audiobook with Ash Aarrestad doing a wonderful job in bringing Melinda to life and the world that she inhabits. Things certainly never are boring with Melinda around and if you like western grit, supernatural monsters, and an awesome female gunslinger saving the day and stopping a nefarious plot that could mean the end of the world, then you will love this story which is great as a book or an audiobook. Really hoping the next book will be turned into an audiobook too!
