A very good book indeed

I'm not given to writing book reviews, but I do want to put in my two cents' worth here and say that I fully agree with all the other reviews here. This is a very good book indeed. It should be read by more people.

very use indeed

I just want to say a few words in praise of this practical title. This is a concise and useful primer, and it is one of the most useful business books I have read for quite some time. I highly recommend it to all of you who may be in need of management guidance and new thinking on the structure and function of the corporation.

PLACING PEOPLE AT THE CENTER OF ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE.

The title of this book could have been "putting people into the heart of the organizational change equation." In its well written pages, the author shows how to engage, liberate and develop an organizations's human potential. MegaChange describes a process of transformation based on assumptions of human capability, rather than limitations. The approach focuses on people (below the top) and assumes that they have valid input, can be trusted, and can play a vital role in the change process. Key themes are: greater emphasis on human values, goals, capabilties, and efficacy; placing people at the center of strategy, structure and systems; approaching change from a top-down-bottom-up sequence of development activities, involving two parallel, synergistic efforts: (1) strategy-driven, organization-wide transition in systems and structures and (2) a transformation in culture, beginning with the workforce. The main body of the book is devoted to explaining this change process. This work provides an excellent perspective on the nature of organizational change and presents an approach to change that, based on my own consulting experience in this area, should be read-and given thoughtful consideration-by top executives. Highly recommended. comprehensive and very helpful

This is an erudite and comprehensive study of how a coporation can transform itself into an ever-stronger force. It is written with both persuasiveness and clarity. It also manages to filter through and summarize a great number of different shools of thought on management. All in all, I find it impressive. One of the best books I've read of its kind for quite sometime. I've never heard of the author before, but I sure am glad to have read him now.

challanges readers to think about change

Solid and comprehensive. Author presents paradigm nd works his way through with thoughtful and scintillating examples.
