Meet the Roots: Where Green Things Begin

By Patty J. Militello

Down in the dark, where no one is looking, everything begins.

Come wiggle below with a friendly little earthworm and meet the roots - a sleepy potato in his nightcap, a brave dandelion, a ginger who waves hello, a whole underground family growing quietly long before they ever reach the light. With a gentle refrain little ones will be chiming in on by the last page:

"Roots grow down so the rest can grow up."

Meet the Roots is a soothing read-aloud for ages 3-7 - a celebration of small, slow, hidden growing, and a tender reminder that little ones grow that way too, deep in the quiet of the night. Along the way there are two easy grow-your-own activities for a sunny windowsill, and a soft, faith-friendly heart woven gently throughout.

It's the first book in the Where Green Things Begin series, where one tiny acorn grows - page by page, book by book - into a mighty oak.

Soft hearts, strong boundaries, and the quiet wonder of watching something grow.
