Meet Me In Beirut

BASED ON A TRUE STORY

The year was 1975. Bill and Bob are two American friends on leave from their foreign study programs in Germany. They plan to drive across Europe and into the Balkans, with their sights set on visiting Istanbul and exploring the Turkish coast.

Their plans take a sudden detour when they meet George-a renowned Armenian-Iraqi competitive bicycle racer with an irresistible personality and a flair for the dramatic. George says he is driving to Beirut with his girlfriend and her mother to sell his car, but in reality he has a deeper plan.

The trio hit it off and after several days of partying George insists that the young Americans change their plans and meet him in Beirut, where George promises to show them the times of their lives. They agree and George's plan is set in motion.

Beirut is everything that George promised it would be: a semitropical paradise that is beguiling and seductive. But unbeknownst to them the Lebanese Civil War is about to explode and, even worse, they have a hand in it. Their very lives are on the line as they try to get out of Beirut before it's too late.
