From the moment I received this book in the mail, I couldn't put it down!

If you are a lover of Meenaji or a lover of Hindi cinema, this book is for you. As soon as I unwrapped the book from the packaging I started reading (since this book was on my wish list for a while, I've been anticipating it.) And I didn't put it down until I was too tired to keep my eyes open, then I proceeded to finish the next morning. The author gives an unbiased look into the great tragediennes life and career since he didn't know her personally. All in all, Meena Kumari's story is one full of drama, love found and lost, being used, and a woman who never had regrets about any of it. This biography takes you on a rollercoaster of emotion. You feel her happiness, sadness, work ethic, triumphs and failures. I found myself in tears during the chapter on her death. But don't just take my word for it, read it yourself and pay homage to the wonderful Meena Kumari.
