information can be integrated into several different subject

Although this is marketed as a middle school unit, I used several of the ideas to build my 5th grade Medieval unit. The unit had a lesson on ballads which I used as part of my language arts and music lessons. It also has instructions for making a flute, which came in handy for another musical experience during my science lesson on sound. The unit's recipes came in handy for planning my culminating activity and an investigation into how well a medieval feast fit the food pyramid guidelines. The only thing this unit lacked was an actual science lesson. All the other subjects are addressed. The unit is a great reseource for literature since it uses several stories and ballads from the medieval period. If you are wanting your class to investigate the medieval lifestyle, this is the unit for you.
