I bought this kit at an airport bookstore at DFW for my 7 year-old son. The eye-catching presentation immediately caught his eye when we entered the children's section of the store, and I could see a purchase coming on after he had played with it for a couple of minutes. I have to admit, it's a pretty cool setup. My son has really enjoyed the set, and it really kept his interest through several hours of flight and wait time on our journey. Fact is, it kept him interested all the way into the second day of our vacation, which has to be some kind of record for a toy with my kid. The set includes a book with numerous pages of punch-out figures and props, a couple of painted action figures, and a main body consisting of a fold-out castle. My son had a blast creating various battle scenes with the figurines. He enjoyed the punch-out models as well, but not as much as the two main character figurines. The information in the book was simple and straightforward, and appeared to be pretty accurate from a historical perspective. I only had two small gripes with the set. One was that the cardboard clasp that holds the set together was very flimsy and fell off after a couple of hours. The other problem was that the punch-out figures and props were somewhat difficult to get out. My son and I both tore several of them as were were trying to get them out of the pages, especially the ones that had protrusions like swords or ladders. Overall though, it's a good toy/book value for my money. I'm sure that we'll once again enjoy having the set with us on our return trip, and I expect that he'll continue to play with it after we get back home. Recommended.
