The series of books on Medical Mycology is the result of studies, classes, seminars and presentations prepared for undergraduate and postgraduate students and health professionals. The main aim is to consolidate knowledge and coordinate learning based on relevant scientific and literary productions on the subject. The way in which each mycosis was grouped and categorised was based on the general principle of fragmenting the content as much as possible so that it could be visualised and understood when added to other scientific productions and publications. As a spokesperson for the new generation of medical mycologists, firstly, we aim to bring the spotlight back to the field of fungal diseases, attracting the attention of the public health spheres to the important and considerable pathologies that affect the population and remain neglected.
