Emergency is a condition that warrants immediate attention by an expert. This situation is an unexpected one, under pressure circumstances, and thus calls for urgent treatment as it can be life-threatening. They can happen to anyone - a patient, doctor, member of the office staff, or person who is merely accompanying a patient. Many emergencies can be definitely avoided by simple preventive measures like a careful medical history, general physical examination regarding the patient's health status, and proper preoperative preparation.
