Wonderful Reference for the Test

I couldn't have passed without it. I was a great information source for the test and I use it at work, as well.

BUY IT

If you are taking the Mechanical PE exam, you know you need this book so just bite the bullet and buy it. It has 90% of what you'll need for the exam without any other resources. Don't forget the ASHRAE books if you take the HVAC afternoon session.

Get this book if you want to pass

I have been a practicing engineer for 18 years. I bought this book (11th edition)and the answer manual for the example problems 5 months before the exam. I spent at least 10 hours a week studying but it paid off. I passed the PE exam the first time. The book is a very good reference also.

Great PE reference Guide

I used this book along with the class and the key is to get familiar with the book. Passed the PE on the first try. I still use the book as my primary reference it's that good! Unfortunately, the book doesn't talk to you, or transfer material by osmosis so you still need to take the time and read it. The book doesn't cover fundamentals(if you need this, get the FE book). It gives you cookbook formulas and information needed to solve about 90% of the problems. It may be wise to take a PE refresher course to help walk you through the material. As for the errors, the publisher posts the errata/corrections on the web and keeps it updated. There is also a solutions manual for the book, I highly recommend this if you are preparing for the PE.

The only review book that you need

This book is the best review book to use for the PE. I used the Potter book last year, but I had to wrestle with errors in equations and unclear explanations which I believe took up too much of my review time. So, this time I switched to the Lindeburg book and what a difference. There is so much useful information and it is very well laid out. I recomend this book highly as a study aid and as a reference book.
