Large numbers of Christians today assume that Jesus is automatically pleased with the way they are conducting their lives. That is a dangerous assumption, and it flies in the face of Jesus' own words. These people either don't think much about the issue or they are guided more by notions than by God's Word. They know that Christ died for their sins - past, present and future - and that they can add nothing to their salvation. Therefore, everything is cool between them and God...they think. Those standards are still in force today. "Measuring Up" is a book about how to discern whether or not Jesus is pleased with us. The goal of this book is to encourage readers to examine their lives in light of the specific "metrics" laid out by Jesus in Rev. 2 and 3, to persevere in the right things, to repent of the wrong things, and to know by conviction and experience that He is Lord.
