This book is a comprehensive sociolinguistic and linguocultural study of linguistic realization of gender category. The work presents the process and the results of comparative and comparative analysis of linguistic representation of gender category and neutralization of this category in English and Russian. The relevance of addressing the problem of gender neutralization and comparative consideration of means of its achievement in English and Russian is connected with the importance of gender category in the overall picture of linguistic development, the breadth of its use and the interest of modern linguistics in it. The relevance of the research is connected with the expanding intercultural contacts, with the fact that at present more and more scientific and practical interest is paid to the problems associated with the features of national cultures and mentalities, including the problem of implementation of gender category.
